Managing Your Database

The Database section in SenseQL allows you to manage the data source connected to your workspace. Since SenseQL works with one active database at a time, this page gives you full control over viewing its status, switching databases, and updating or removing them when needed.

Viewing Database Status

At the top of the page, you’ll see the Database Status panel.

  • Select Database: Use the dropdown to switch between available databases. The currently connected database will show by default.

  • Status: Shows whether the database is Active or inactive.

  • Downtime, Refresh Rate, Refresh Time: (Optional metrics) will be displayed here if configured during setup.

This quick view lets you confirm that your database connection is healthy and ready to use.

All Data Sources

The All Data Sources panel lists the databases you’ve connected.

For each entry, you’ll see:

  • Data Source: The name of the database (e.g., Test).

  • Last Active On: The most recent date it was connected.

  • Enabled: A toggle to activate or deactivate the database.

Actions available:

  • Edit — Takes you back to the onboarding flow where you can update your database connection details.

  • Delete — Removes the database from SenseQL.

  • Add New Database — Starts the onboarding flow to connect a new database.

Note: Only one data source can be active at any given time in SenseQL.

Adding or Editing a Database

When you choose to Add or Edit a database, SenseQL guides you through the onboarding steps:

  1. Connect Database

    • Provide your database type and connection credentials.

    • Ensure permissions allow SenseQL to query your data.

  2. Add Context
    SenseQL Doc

    • Upload business context files (PDF/DOCX).

    • Optionally define SQL question–answer pairs.

    • Review and confirm table definitions.

  3. Confirm Setup

    • Test the connection.

    • Mark the database as enabled.

Once complete, your database will appear in the All Data Sources list and be selectable in the dropdown.

That’s it — you now know how to manage your databases in SenseQL. From here, you can start using Chat to run natural language questions against your active database.
